About Me

Coming from Mexico, I've spent more than 20 incredible years living in The Netherlands, embracing my new Dutch identity alongside my Mexican roots. Love is what brought me and my daughter here, and it continues to be what binds me to this land – even in spite of the gloomy weather! Over the course of my journey, life experiences have sharpened my observant, introspective, and inquisitive nature.

I am enthusiastic, paired with a tendency to be easily distracted, sometimes unpredictable but always someone people can rely on. My passions include self-inquiry, indulging in delicious food while traveling, exercising, and surrounding myself with others who share my appreciation for sarcastic-dark humor. After all, a good laugh each day is an essential ingredient for a fulfilled life!

Design Practice

My design practice thrives on a thoughtful, hands-on approach where taking it slow is beneficial, but tangible outcomes are always achieved. I believe in involving individuals in the design journey, fostering an environment of shared knowledge, collaborative exploration, and learning.

Simultaneously, I confidently allow the project to evolve without solely relying on my control or signature touches. Collaboration is never a one-sided affair in my practice. My work's essence lies at the intersection of social design and craftsmanship, with materiality serving as a research tool. I'm captivated by themes that explore or challenge identity and the roles people play in time, within society or in relation to others.

Research

During my time at The Hague University, I became part of the Designing Value Networks lectorate, where our dynamic team focused on researching Living Labs. Our purpose was to uncover the influential factors and methods that support living labs in driving systemic change.

In addition to this, I joined forces as a designer with other researchers on their interesting projects. My interest lies in transforming research findings into accessible content for a diverse range of audiences, ensuring the knowledge reaches its intended stakeholders. To make this possible, I harness the power of design to express and convey research findings in an artful and engaging manner.
